Book Report – Shadow Divers by Robert Kurson

Subtitled “The True Adventure of Two Americans Who Risked Everything to Solve One of the Last Mysteries of World War II”, Shadow Divers is the incredible true story of amateur, deep water divers who make the discovery of a lifetime in the Atlantic Ocean.

I can’t say enough about this book. It is fascinating on multiple levels. The background information on deep water diving alone would be worth the read. However, the story also follows the two main characters and how they became divers, how they came to find one another, and how they made and pursued a discovery that became an obsession in their lives.

At 432 pages, or 15 and a half hours, the book is a bit lengthy, but you won’t mind a bit. The story takes so many interesting turns that you’ll be hooked for the entire journey.
