Subtitled “31 Days Training with the Toughest Man on the Planet” this book is the story about the author hiring a former Navy SEAL to live with his family for a month during which he agrees to any training instruction his guest commands.  The author, Jesse Itzler, qualifies as famous and well-known if you know him.  He’s had a very interesting life as a former rapper, MTV character, and ultra successful entrepreneur.  Additionally, though his identity was not revealed at the time, it would later come out that the SEAL is David Goggins, who would gain notoriety of his own through his book, “Can’t Hurt Me”, and his various podcast and youtube appearances.

The book can be a little hokey at times, but is very entertaining and the tasks and workouts these two complete within a month are commendable.  It definitely provides a strong degree of motivation and entertainment.  Plus, if you are a Goggins fan (like me), it’s interesting to get a small glimpse of him before he became well known.

At 272 pages or 5 hours, it’s a quick read that is well worth the time and cost.
