American Adulterer by Jed Mercurio
American Adulterer is the story of John F Kennedy told as a historical novel. In my mid-30s, I went through a JFK kick. Like many, I was fascinated by his continually contradictory life. He was a brilliant visionary that represented the new age and attitude of our society. He overcame considerable health issues, was a war hero, and negotiated our country through one of its most tense and defining periods. He was a great communicator and unifier and represented so many things that our nation aspired to be. He could also be a bit of a scumbag. His story isn’t complete without highlighting his history of selfishness and infidelity.
This book covers his full story and a range of characters including LBJ, Marilyn Monroe, and Frank Sinatra. It reads like a novel and presents historical events with a uniquely fresh perspective.
At 350 pages or 11 hours, it is an average length read that is very enjoyable.
