Happy Hour is for Amateurs by Philalawyer
Subtitled “A Lost Decade in the World’s Worst Profession”, this book chronicles a man’s time spent in the legal world. On a personal note, no author has influenced me more than Philalawyer. However, the interesting part is that he was, and still remains, anonymous.
My friends and I discovered his blog around 2006 when he wrote on another popular platform at the time. He was a young attorney who wrote about the absurdity of the legal profession, but also about the corporate world in general. His words were so on point for any young professional trying to adapt and navigate the working world. Each story felt like the words of a clever friend who was describing the things we were all encountering on a weekly basis. He never revealed his identity and to some degree I love him more for it. This book was a collection of his blog entries and to my knowledge it was his first and last publication.
The book is 320 pages and well worth the read (it came out well before Audible).
