McCarthy is one of the few authors whose work I purchase and read sight unseen. He has many great works across multiple ranges and has proven himself countless times over. I could rattle off several of his more known titles, all of which are great, but Child of God was a lesser known work of his.
The story is weird and twisted and follows a man who is a very weird and very twisted and who lives in the Tennessee hills as a societal outcast. The tale is so unique that a full description takes away from the story. The book is so well written that you’ll be engrossed by the haunting narrative.
At just over 200 pages, or 3 hours and 40 minutes, it’s a quick, easy read that’ll make you look up more of McCarthy’s works.
