Bird by Bird by Anne Lamott

Subtitled “Some Instructions on Writing and Life” this book is largely an autobiography about the author’s life as she becomes a writer. Influenced by her father, who was a writer, she observes his life and career as an adolescent but develops a different understanding of him as she embarks on her own literary career.

At 256 pages or 6 hours, this is a quick enjoyable read that is filled with incredible life lessons.
