Book Report – You Are Not So Smart by David McRaney

Subtitled “Why You Have Too Many Friends on Facebook, Why Your Memory Is Mostly Fiction, and 46 Other Ways You’re Deluding Yourself” this book delves into the subject of behavioral economics and examines the psychology behind our everyday actions. Admittedly, if you are not interested in the subject, this book may not be for you. However, I can’t imagine anyone not finding the anecdotal stories fascinating.

The book is broken into 46 chapters that can be read in any order, with each highlighting the reason we make the often irrational choices we do. You’ll find yourself falling prey to most of these scenarios once they are brought to your attention in everyday life.

At just over 300 pages, or 8 hours and 24 minutes, this book is a fun, easily digestible read that can be absorbed at once or in pieces.
