Book Report – When I Stop Talking, You’ll Know I’m Dead by Jerry Weintraub

Subtitled “Useful Stories from a Persuasive Man”, this book chronicles the life of Jerry Weintraub, a man who lived so many incredible stories that it doesn’t seem real. He lived a “Forrest Gump type” life long before that was a term in the American lexicon. With stories ranging from being Elvis Presley’s tour manager, discovering John Denver, and becoming one of Hollywood’s mega-producers, Jerry Weintraub accumulated remarkable adventures throughout each turn of his life.
While the stories are interesting and entertaining, there is also an underlying lesson to Jerry’s grit, hustle, and undying confidence in his abilities. His story is both enthralling and inspiring and well worth the read.
At 7 hours and 32 minutes, or 304 pages, the book makes for a reasonably quick listen (or read) and will leave you wanting more.
