Book Report – The Fighter’s Mind by Sam Sheridan

Subtitled “Inside the Mental Game”, this book examines the mental aspect of professional fighters and highlights the thinking of these unique individuals. Being a professional athlete takes world class talent combined with a supreme work ethic. That’s true for any professional sport. However, reaching the top in the world of combat sports requires an extra gear.

Sam Sheridan does a phenomenal job digging into the psyche of various fighters to expose how they think reveal the thought process they bring to their vocation. The book is interesting on multiple levels and includes enough detail for hardcore fight fans while also providing mental insight that appeals to psychology students.
