Book Report – Endurance by Alfred Lansing

Written by Alfred Lansing, Endurance is the true story of an expedition to cross Antarctica in 1914. As you might imagine, things didn’t go as planned and this book captures the excruciating conditions the crew faced during this journey gone awry. Considering that a present day trip to the grocery store without your phone is enough to cause a minor panic, it’s incredible to imagine the scenario these men encountered as they became stranded in the arctic with no communication to the outside world.

This is simply an incredible book that highlights a level of grit in the human spirit that is rarely called upon. At 357 pages or 10 hours and 20 minutes, it’s a medium length read/listen that holds your attention through its entirety.
